Maileen Hamto

EdD, MS, MBA

Practice Partner and Lead Consultant (She/They/Siya)

Dr. Maileen Hamto has more than 20 years’ experience in strategic communications and diversity, equity, and inclusion leadership. Working in the nonprofit, healthcare, higher education, and technology sectors, she is an experienced project leader in qualitative research, environmental assessment, program evaluation, communications strategy development, instructional design, action planning, and program implementation. She is well-versed in processes involved in survey design and deployment, focus group facilitation, key stakeholder interviews, as well as data analysis and synthesis. In addition, Maileen has designed and facilitated workshops on DEI-focused topics, including diversity leadership essentials and applying a DEI lens in decision-making.

Maileen completed doctoral studies in Leadership in Educational Equity at the School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver. Her doctoral research study highlighted the lived experiences of women diversity leaders in advancing racial equity in STEM-focused organizations.

As practice partner and lead consultant, she specializes in designing actionable approaches for data analysis, staff and stakeholder engagement, and strategic plan development. Maileen identifies as Pinay/FilAm, with research interests in diversity leadership, racial justice, liberatory pedagogy, and decoloniality.
